WAKE UP CALL

Now, tomorrow’s episode of The Furchester Hotel is a special one. It’s the first episode we ever shot. Our first day in studio with a crew we didn’t know and a set we were still getting to grips with.

At this point you are still finding your feet. By the end of the shoot we were a well oiled machine (most of the time) but on the first day you’re still learning who the characters are and have no idea where the toilets or the coffee machine are located.

“Organised chaos” is the phrase that springs to mind.

I also had a stinking cold! So Furgus may sound a little more gruff than usual.

Enjoy!

THE BOX SET POD – MUPPET EDITION

Not long ago I did an interview with the lovely chaps at The Box Set Pod.

You can stream it here http://www.theboxsetpod.com/listen

During the show I talk about my love of The Muppets, and how the films The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth fuelled my dream of becoming a puppeteer (with a few distractions along the way). We also get sidetracked onto the world of geekdom, box sets and I mention my love of John Carpenter movies, especially Big Trouble In Little China.

I’d never done a long form interview like this so was quite anxious about it to say the least. But the guys were great and I think it went really well. It’s episode 2 of season 2, entitled simply “Muppet”.

I hope you enjoy it!

TIME TO BLOOM SONG

I was always nervous at the prospect of singing on The Furchester Hotel. I had singing classes when I was at drama school but was never hugely confident.

So when it came to the upcoming episode “The Blooming” I worked very hard with Andy Blythe and Marten Joustra (the super talented music types) to make this as good as possible.

I’m rather proud of the way it turned out!

No auto tune was employed in the making of this song.

Or so they tell me.
